WINNER OF
BACKDOOR THEATRE'S
22nd ANNUAL NEW PLAY PROJECT
The Lions Club
has procrastinated selecting a chairman for this year’s annual Dog Dip and
Barbeque, the most important community event of any year. Robert Thompson, a
brand new minister in town, unwittingly gets manipulated into chairing the
event. Charlie, Bull, and Steve (the unofficial "Anything for a Buck"
union) put in a proposal of sorts to gain a construction contract for the
event. John “J.T.” Tice expects to be named chairman as he has for many
years, but learns that rumors of another chairman are true. Conflict arises
as J.T. devises a plan to discredit Rev. Thompson and regain control of the
DD&BBQ. Set in a small town in Texas, this light-hearted banter is a fun
time for everyone.
