Volunteering
- We need people to help build
sets, to work backstage (we'll teach you how), or even to help in the
office, (answer the phone, mailing lists and such). Look for our Volunteer
party and training session...coming this summer.
Donating
- We can always use building materials (for building sets &
making repairs), paints (sorry, NO oil base), brushes, tools, and even props
and costumes. Cash is also helpful, which would be
a good tax deduction, since we're a non-profit outfit. And if you own a
business, think about a corporate sponsorship.
Using GoodSearch - You can contribute to Backdoor by using
Goodsearch, one cent per search. No cost to you! Click here
to get started.
Auditioning
- Can you act? Come to the auditions. You would be amazed by
the satisfaction derived from getting on that stage and making all those
people forget the problems of daily life. You'll forget your own while
you're at it. Problems, that is, not lines. Auditioning is fun, even if you
don't get cast in the role you wanted. And if you do get that role... hey,
next stop Broadway or Hollywood or maybe even a car dealership commercial.
Buying tickets
- Now there's a real way to help! You get entertained and
you help the theater's budget at the same time! Especially if you buy
season's tickets -- say, as a gift for someone you love at anniversary time
(hint, hint). How much more romantic can you get? Take her out to dinner at
one of our great local restaurants and then see a live show -- think about
it. If you own or manage a business, consider that theater tickets make
great rewards for outstanding employees -- they also make good incentives or
prizes for such things as not having an accident for x days. Some
larger businesses have been known to buy an entire extra performance for the
employees, just to show appreciation for a job well done, or for a holiday
party! A small business could buy a table or two. You get the picture. If
you don't own a business, think about buying season tickets for you and your
spouse, plus another couple of season tickets with which to take different
friends to the theater throughout the year -- visiting relatives, that sort
of thing. Show them you have class and artistic sensitivity. Show them you
know quality entertainment when you see it.
Talking
- Tell your friends to come see a show that you liked.
Backdoor will benefit from the ticket sales, your friends will benefit from
the enjoyment and relaxation of a great evening, and you'll benefit from
their undying gratitude for widening their horizons. So next time Lester or
Marvin start talking politics (you know the kind of politics - they're
always supporting some corrupt idiot or another, instead of the qualified
statesman you and I support), change the subject and tell 'em to go see a
show at Backdoor. Keep your blood pressure under control, you see!
