![]() Backdoor Theatre has been our community’s premier nonprofit theatre for the past 50 years . Like many art institutions, we were forced to close our doors in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the hopes of safely reopening in the fall of 2020. Catastrophically, on July 18, 2020, a water main burst and flooded our theatre’s Dinner Stage and Main Stage Lobby at the rate of 80 gallons per minute. In under an hour, our beloved dinner stage and main stage lobby were submerged under a staggering five feet of water. The immediate outpouring of community support was incredible between volunteer cleanup days, news coverage, and financial contributions. Unfortunately, the damage to the dinner theatre and main stage lobby was very extensive. Our current timeline estimate that we will not be back in full operation until 2023. Our current estimate for rebuild is $350,000+. If you would like to donate, you can give here. If you are interested in volunteering at future workdays, please sign up here.
