What's it about?
POLITICAL COMEDY
Ned Newley is the last person you'd expect to become governor, which is unfortunate, because that's exactly what has happened.
He's painfully uncomfortable in front of crowds, hopeless on camera, and seems destined to become a political disaster. But when a seasoned political consultant arrives to rescue his career, he sees something everyone else has missed: maybe Ned's complete lack of political polish isn't a problem. Maybe it's exactly what voters are looking for.
Soon, Ned and his staff find themselves in the middle of an increasingly ridiculous campaign involving polling, television appearances, political strategy, and one very unusual candidate.
The Outsider is a sharp, fast-moving political comedy that takes aim at campaigns, candidates, the media, and our complicated relationship with democracy.
