What's it about?
MUSICAL COMEDY | PG-13
Welcome to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, where six wonderfully awkward young competitors have one goal: spell their way to the championship!
As the competition gets tougher, we learn there is a lot more going on behind those spelling words. Between overachieving parents, first crushes, family struggles, enormous expectations, and the desperate desire to fit in, each speller brings a little more baggage to the microphone than expected.
And the kids aren't the only ones competing. A few brave audience members are invited into the bee each night, making every performance a little different.
Hilarious, heartfelt, and just the right amount of weird, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a musical comedy about growing up, finding your people, and discovering that sometimes losing isn't the worst thing in the world.
