Behind Every Great Production Is a Great Team!

Not every student wants to be in the spotlight - and that's okay! Theatre is for everyone! 

Backdoor Theatre's Technical and Design Artistry (TADA) program allows students to explore the creative and technical side of theatre through hands-on experience working on real productions! 

From lighting and sound to costumes, props, scenic/set design, and stage management, students learn how the many moving pieces of a production come together to create the magic audiences see on stage!

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

TADA students may explore:
  • Lighting Design and Light Board Operation
  • Sound Design and Sound Board Operation
  • Scenic Design and Set Construction
  • Props Design, Build, and Management
  • Costumes and Wardrobe
  • Stage Management
  • Running Crew
  • Theatre Technology
  • Production Planning and Marketing
​Students gain practical experience while contributing to real performances seen by thousands of audience members each year.

They will work alongside Backdoor Theatre staff and production teams to help bring productions to life!
Because every production is different, students have opportunities to gain experience in multiple areas throughout the season!

Technical and Design Artistry (TADA) provides hands-on training and mentorship for students interested in the many creative and technical careers that support live theatre!

​Donations help provide costumes, props, set materials, lighting and sound equipment, software subscriptions, printing and marketing materials, and other educational resources used by TADA students!
