Backdoor Theatre is a 501 c(3) non-profit now past it’s 50th year of enriching, educating, and entertaining Wichita Falls and the surrounding community through the performing arts!
Did you know that only 40% of our annual budget is covered by ticket sales? We rely on folks like you, generous sponsors, and grant makers to fill in the gaps. The cost of theatre is rising. The average rights for a musical range from $3,000 to $5,000, with total production expenses reaching $8,000 to $15,000. Even our plays, with rights between $250 and $800, incurs production expenses of $2,000 to $5,000. Productions costs cover everything from set building and design to musicians, technicians, costumes, props, and more! Backdoor Theatre brings comedies, dramas, and musicals to life! As the arts lose funding in our public schools, we have also helped hundreds of youth and adults find their creative outlet, build confidence, and develop self-esteem.
