Backdoor Theatre - Youth Programs
At its heart, part of Backdoor Theatre's mission is education.
The mission of Backdoor's Theatre School is to provide students of all ages with the means to actively explore the beauty, diversity, complexity, and challenges of the world around them through the dramatic process. We strive for our students to develop their own unique creative voice, imagination, and understanding of drama and its role in society.
We offer two programs throughout the year: Youth Improv Troupe + Summer Theatre Academy. Each session is designed to give our students a rewarding experience, which ends with a public performance. Youth Troupe is offered during the school year, and Summer Theatre Camp runs for two weeks during the summer.
Each summer we have our annual Summer Youth Musical where local 6th - 12th graders audition, rehearse, and perform a fully realized production on our Main Stage. This is a great way to gain experience on stage or off stage as tech/crew!
