Backdoor Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Wichita Falls!

If it is your first time or 20th time to Backdoor Theatre, we'd love to help you plan your visit! 

LOCATION

Backdoor Theatre has been at its current location since the mid-70s.  We are located at 501 Indiana Ave. Wichita Falls, TX 76301.

Our 100 year old building sits on the corner of 5th and Indiana in downtown Wichita Falls.  We have a private parking lot as well as street parking.  Please be mindful of one way roads when traveling downtown. 

THEATRE ETIQUETTE

To ensure a delightful experience for all, here are some helpful reminders for theater etiquette:
Dress to Impress: While there's no strict dress code, consider dressing up as a special treat for the occasion. We love to see our patrons dressing up! 

Arrive Early: The lobby opens 60 minutes before curtain, with seating beginning 30 minutes before showtime. Use this time to visit our concession area and restroom facilities before the show begins. Please note that unclaimed tickets five minutes before curtain may be resold and are ineligible for refund.

Late Arrivals: If you're running behind schedule, you won't be allowed to enter the theater unaccompanied once the show has started. A House Manager or Usher will guide you in during a suitable break, typically during a scene change.

Silence Your Devices: Please turn off cellphones and smartwatches  or put in Airplane/Do Not Disturb mode to avoid disruptions during the performance. It messes with our sound and lighting technology. Texting or checking social media can distract both fellow audience members and our actors, who can see the glow from the stage.
Respectful Behavior: Refrain from talking, chatting, or singing along during the show. Remember, our actors can hear you on stage, and your conversations can be distracting to others.

No Photography or Videography: Please refrain from taking photos or videos during the performance, as this violates our contract agreements and could result in serious consequences for Backdoor Theatre. However, you're more than welcome to capture memories with the cast and crew after the show.

Respect the Space: Treat the theater space with care and respect. Avoid kicking seats, putting feet on chairs, or leaning excessively on the railing. Please pick up your trash as you leave. 

Show Appreciation Appropriately: Show your appreciation for the performance through applause at appropriate times, such as the end of a scene or the conclusion of the show. Save discussions or critiques for after the performances. The best gift you can give our crew and cast is a standing ovation at the end of the show.

ACCESSIBILITY

Backdoor Theatre offers accessibility to all of our shows and events. 

When booking tickets on the Main Stage, all seats in Row A are accessible. 

When booking on the Dinner Stage, all seats in  Tables G, L, & M  are accessible. Those seats are on the entry level and those chairs may be removed.

You may access our Main Stage and Dinner Stage through exterior ramps. The Main Stage Handicap Entrance is on the west side of the building.  Our Dinner Stage Lobby entrance is accessible via ramp in our courtyard.  See photos.
