Backdoor Theatre's Theatre School
What is Theatre School?
The mission of Backdoor Theatre School is to ignite the curiosity and creativity of students across all ages through theatre. Through the dramatic process, we invite exploration into the beauty, diversity, and challenges of the world, aiming to nurture each student's unique voice, imagination, and understanding of drama's societal impact.
Our Theatre School, offered in both Fall and Spring, is carefully crafted to provide a fulfilling experience while addressing the individual needs of students—physically, mentally, and creatively. With all of Backdoor Theatre's Youth Programs, our goal is to deliver a theatrical education within a safe and nurturing environment. We believe in creating an enjoyable learning experience for every student, empowering them to discover and harness the enchantment of theatre.

SPRING 2024 | JANUARY 8TH - MARCH 2ND
PERFORMANCE WILL BE MARCH 2ND @ 11 AM
YOU'VE ASKED AND WE'VE LISTENED! Please be sure to read this in it's entirety.
Over the last year, students and parents alike have asked for more productions for kids and youth. And for this semester, Theatre School is taking education to the stage with "Schoolhouse Rock LIVE!, JR"!
Students will delve into the basics of the production process and rehearse a musical, covering everything from blocking to acting and singing. For our younger participants, this serves as an introduction to theatre essentials like blocking and memorizing, while older students gain valuable educational and performance experiences for their resumes. Our adventure begins the week of January 8th!
Here's what's new:
Can't make the March 2nd performance? No worries—please still sign up to learn, but let us know ASAP if you won't be at the March 2nd performance. If you've enrolled but haven't notified our staff about your inability to attend the performance, we'll assume your presence is confirmed. Unfortunately, we won't have the luxury of time to re-cast roles due to last-minute schedule changes. Your commitment to the performance date is crucial for the success of this production!
Also included in your tuition this year is a Backdoor Theatre Theatre School t-shirt! Woohoo - Backdoor swag!
Let's make this semester an unforgettable stage journey together!
