The Summer Theatre Academy (STA) at Backdoor Theatre promises two weeks of fun and learning! STA is a 10-day camp where students ages 8-13 audition, rehearse, and perform a play in just 10 days!
Students will gain valuable theatre skills, confidence, self-esteem, and a love of creativity through theatre games, acting, and a performance! We also have opportunities for high school students to be camp counselors! They are the production team covering assignments like props, costuming, lighting design, sound design, board op, assistant directing, stage managing, and marketing! |

We are excited to welcome back Mr. Mark and Mr. Chance as instructors for the 2026 Summer Theatre Academies. With years of theatre experience and a passion for teaching young performers, they have created a supportive environment where students can grow, learn, and have fun!
High School Counselors:
Each summer, we select high school students to be part of the production team and camp counselors. These roles are open to current 9th - 12th graders, including 2026 Seniors. These include roles like:
- Assistant Director/Stage Manager
- Costumes/Hair/Makeup
- Props/Set Design
- Tech/Lighting/Sound
- Marketing/Promotions
