SPEND YOUR 2023 SUMMER WITH BACKDOOR!

The Summer Theatre Academy at Backdoor Theatre promises two weeks of fun and learning! Your child will gain valuable theatre skills, confidence, self-esteem, and a love of creativity through theatre games, acting, and performance.

SUMMER THEATRE ACADEMY 2023

Under the guidance of Lauren Loskot & Corey Rauscher (amazing theatre teachers at Dexter!), this fast-paced two-week camp is designed to help young actors develop their skills, improve their confidence, and gain a greater understanding of the art of theatre.

At the end of the two weeks, campers will have the opportunity to show off their skills and perform in a production of "Hercules"!

STA COUNSELORS

We're excited to offer four Summer Theatre Academy Counselor positions to four high school students! 

We are thrilled to offer paid STA Counselor opportunities for four youth in our area!  You MUST be in High School or be a part of the 2023 Graduating Class.

Our Summer Theatre Academy will be June 16th - June 30th  - Monday thru Friday - 9 AM - Noon  You will be expected to be there from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM, and attend the performance will on Saturday, July 1st. 

Counselors will act as the production team and assistants. There will be four counselors that would act as designers/tech leads for costumes, makeup, props, light, & sound.
Tuition Waivers Available:
Thanks to very generous donors and friends, we have a few full and partial tuition waivers available. 
​These will be distributed on a financial needs basis.
